Southern Africa Regional Democracy Fund (SARDF): USAID/RCSA

DATEX provides grants management and institutional support for local and regional NGOs/PVOs in 11 Southern Africa countries supporting improved governance and democracy initiatives. DATEX's responsibilities include: institutional capacity building, technical assistance for improved governance and democracy interventions, and monitoring and evaluation. As a testament to our effective technical capabilities, the SARDF contract was recently amended to expand our NGO capacity enhancement activities beyond financial and management strengthening. Our technical assistance now encompasses direct support to improve programmatic activities and service delivery.

Also under SARDF, DATEX currently manages grants ranging in size from US$5,000 single-tranche disbursements to multi-tranche grants (up to $250,000), for short-term and multiple-year programs. From its office in Gaborone, Botswana, DATEX provides grants management and institutional support for regional NGO/PVOs supporting improved governance and democracy and operating in the eleven member SARDF countries.

DATEX recently facilitated the Regional Democracy and Governance Donor Conference in Harare, Zimbabwe for USAID/RCSA. The purpose of the conference was to bring together international and national donor agencies to share lessons learned and foster future collaboration and cooperation among democracy and governance programs throughout Southern Africa.
