Promoting the Recovery of Economy in Transition (PRET): USAID/Haiti

Under this program, DATEX's staff is addressing the recovery of the Haitian economy. To accomplish this, DATEX is assisting in the creation of sustainable financial institutions capable of delivering financial services of the type and quantity required by the SME sector. DATEX also is increasing the productive capacity of SMEs through direct and indirect assistance with product and skills development, marketing, and identification of potentially profitable economic activities. Our approach is centered around three principles: responsiveness to market demand, leverage, and sustainability. Through these three areas, DATEX strengthened financial institutions, increased capitalization, generated market development, created training programs, strengthened institutions, improved mass awareness, and implemented policy guidance and coordination in Haiti.
