Logistical Support Services for the Nonproliferation and Export Control Cooperation Unit: US Department of Commerce
DATEX provided logistics support services to the Department of Commerce's Nonproliferation and Export Control Cooperation Unite within the Bureau of Export Administration. The activities cover a full range of export control matters, from theory, to implementation, and to enforcement. The domestic sessions are generally bilateral events of one week in duration, involving 4-6 foreign visitors, and usually include on-site visits. More infrequent multilateral events, while still one week in duration, have involved up to 40 individuals from as many as sixteen countries. DATEX managed the logistics surrounding these events which totaled approximately 30 per year.
DATEX arranged travel itineraries and obtained tickets, coordinated overseas layovers en route, arranged and secured hotel accomodations, arranged and secured ground transportation, handled transportation and expenses to luncheons and receptions, arranged and secured interpretation and translation services, and provided expense money to foreign travelers coming to the U.S.
Throughout each event, DATEX provided frequent status briefings. At the conclusion of each event, DATEX provided a detailed report including line item costs and a commentary of actions during the event including any problems encountered.
