Civil Society and Democratic Initiatives

DATEX works with host country government entities to ensure an equitable distribution of power and fiscal authority at the local, regional and national levels. DATEX provides technical assistance and conducts workshops and training programs directed at expanding citizen participation in the government decision-making process, improving the policy making process within local government, strengthening the capacity of municipal and local governments, building stronger democratic institutions, and increasing local government accountability and transparency. In addition, our NGO capacity building activities lend to a stronger, more empowered and better informed third sector which serves as a constituent-based conduit between the private sector and government in promotion of civil society activities.
