Center for African Family Studies III Project Paper Design Assistance
DATEX provided key team members for this multi-party, multidisciplinary project paper design for the Centre for African Family Studies (CAFS) III. CAFS is a non-profit regional family planning training and technical assistance institution headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. The purpose of the CAFS III is to develop a stable, self-reliant, market-oriented African institution that is effectively transferring modern family planning/reproductive health technologies to family planning programs in the public and private sectors. The new project activities will become more responsive to market demand and focus on locally-tailored, in-country training courses; the end result being the strengthening of capabilities, capacities and effectiveness of those providing reproductive and family health services based on appropriate population and family health practices. The primary focus of this effort was to develop and strengthen institutional capacity while continuing to refine and expand their standard training programs.
