Niger Agriculture Sector Development Grant (ASDG II): USAID/Niger

DATEX provided training assistance, as well as technical assistance, in: operations management assistance and training, personnel/human resource management, management information systems, impact monitoring and public finance for the government of Niger. Several task orders completed under this grant exemplify DATEX's ability to organize, facilitate and assess training and technical assistance activities.

1. DATEX custom designed a five-day workshop in French for project managers in the Ministry of Agriculture. The purpose of the event was to:
   • stimulate thinking about the role of management
   • provide appropriate management tools
   • encourage development of plans for change

2. DATEX worked with the project team to finalize the Monitoring and Evaluation kit and training module for grantees of the NGO/Private Sector Fund

3. DATEX organized periodic training programs in financial management for NGOs and CBOs. The training modules included
   • procurement of goods and services
   • management of human and material resources
   • cash management
   • checking and recording operations
